Bhubaneswar: As Odisha Football Club gets set to kick off its first home game in the Indian Super League (ISL) today, all eyes of fans will be on Odia footballer Shubham Sarangi.

19-year-old Sarangi is one among the probables likely to feature in the much-awaited campaign opener for the State-based football club.

An aggressive attacking holding midfielder, Sarangi got his break when he appeared for the trials in U-14 National Championships from Delhi team. Later, he was signed up by Delhi Dynamos FC for the Hero ISL in 2017-18.

Odisha FC which was rebranded from Delhi Dynamos this season will play its first home match today against ATK at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune.

It may be noted that the club authorities had earlier shifted its venue to Pune-based sports complex as their original ground Kalinga Stadium was not ready to host the home game due to the ongoing upgradation work for the upcoming FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.

Although Odisha FC is playing their home game away from Bhubaneswar, the club will launch its official fan park today in Esplanade One Mall in the city.

The mall has organised a special screening of the Odisha FC against ATK game at 7:30 PM. The fan park is expected to be full of action with fans back home looking forward to cheer the side from Bhubaneswar.
