Bhubaneswar: Bringing cheers for the netizens in Odisha, Google will soon add Odia language in its search engine. This will enable the internet users to discover contents in the local language.

The announcement was made by the technology giant in the fifth edition of its annual Google for India event held at New Delhi on Thursday.

Apart from Odia, two more Indian languages including Urdu and Punjabi will also be included in the Google search engine by the end of the year, said reports.

Last year, the Google had introduced support for seven local languages in country namely Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada and Malayalam. So far, the Google search is available in a total of nine languages in India and by the year end, the number will go up by 12.
