Rath Yatra 2020: Holy Trinity Reaches Gundicha Temple, Pahandi Tomorrow

‘Not a leaf moves without the will of the Supreme’, Lord Jagannath and that is what prevailed when love and devotion won over fear and apprehension as Supreme Court modified its June 18 order to allow Rath Yatra of the Holy Trinity in Puri only amid the Covid pandemic.

Bada Danda, which usually teems with lakhs of devotees during the grand festival exhibited a spectacle of silent devotion as people were barred from venturing out after enforcement of curfew orders in the holy town and the entire Puri district. Amid strict restrictions, the centuries-old Rath Yatra, the festival of joy began as succour to millions that are woven in the thread of Jagannath culture & devotion.

Even though devotees were barred from participating in the festival, the atmosphere was no less dense brimming with faith, tradition and reverence.
