Pratibimba
Cuttack: In a first of its kind event, an Odia Open Mic programme- ‘Pratibimba’ was organised at Jaunliapatti in Cuttack today.
The event, organised by ‘Your Quote,’ was aimed at providing a stage for many such hidden talents who usually don’t find a platform to showcase their special quality.
As many as 30 participants including stand-up comedians, poets and mimicry artists had registered for the event.
“We are trying to bring forward many writers and poets through Your Quote. ‘Pratibimba’ is a platform for people who want to nullify their stage fear and through this they can put forward their talent,” said Rinku Taunk, one of the organisers.

Many literature enthusiasts from all walks of life had come forward to encourage the participants and enjoy their performances.
“Cuttack is a historical place and many litterateurs had made the city their workplace. The organisers have given us a platform to showcase our talent and this is a good step to encourage youngsters. I am here to listen what others have done and would want to narrate a few of my own writings,” said Sachikanta Khuntia, a participant.
MBBS student Biswajit Mallick expressed, “I am very excited to participate in an Odia Open Mic. I have participated in many open mics but the best thing about the event today is it’s only for Odias. Today I am going to narrate my poem ‘Mun Sei Bharatare Rahuchhi’.”
