Chhindwara (MP): An elderly man from Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara district has willed half of his property to his pet dog.

The 50-year-old man, identified as Om Narayan Verma is a resident of Badibaba village in Chand tehsil. He has four daughters and a son, but he is no mood to leave anything for the children. The farmer said that the dog is like his son and he wants to leave half of his property to him.

Narayan willed the other half of his property to his second wife Champa.

As per his will, notarized two days ago, he owns 18 acres of land which will be divided equally between his wife and his dog.

After the dog's death, the one who has looked after the animal will get its share of the property.

As the behaviour of his sons was upsetting him, he gave away his property to his pet dog Jacky. Narayan wrote in his will, "My wife and my pet dog take care of me. Therefore, I am the closest to them. After I pass away, I want my second wife Champa and pet dog Jacky to inherit all the property I have. The person who takes care of the dog will inherit the property I have set aside for it."

"I have no faith in my children, so I have made my wife and my pet dog owners of the property after my death," informed Narayan, a former sarpanch of the village.

The farmer's first wife was identified as Dhanvanti Verma. Narayan has three daughters and a son from his first marriage. Narayan and his second wife have two daughters.
