A recent string of live-streamed tragedies has reignited a debate about the increasing violence in this Internet age where we have developed a tendency to broadcast every act of ours and go live.

Here’s a list of five such reported shocking cases in less than two months:

March 2017, Miami

A 14-year-old girl streamed her suicide on Facebook Live due to quarrel with her mother.

She lived streamed her suicide accusing her mother of crying wolf and mocking her online.

March 2017, Tennessee (US, South)

Fiancee of Rodney James Hess, Johnisha Provost, saw the death of her boyfriend helplessly on Facebook. Hess live streamed his own death while he was being shot at by police during a traffic stop.

Later, Provost claimed that Hess was asking the police for help but they shot him down.

April 2017, Ohio

Steve Stephens, a suspect in murder, live-streamed his brutal random shooting that killed one 74-year-old Robert Godwin.

Stephens then claimed to have killed more than 10 people and said he would kill more but he shot and killed himself few days later in Pennsylvania

April 24, 2017: Thailand

A Thai man reportedly hanged his 11-month-old daughter and streamed it on Facebook Live. Later, he hanged himself.

The incident has shaken the world with voices being raised over the such misuse social media platforms.

April 27, 2017: Alabama (Southeastern U.S. state)

A 49-year-old man, James M. Jeffrey, from Alabama shot himself in the head following breakup with his girlfriend.

Jeffery streamed the horrifying suicide on Facebook Live.
