YouTuber Rahul’s murder in Bhubaneswar: Wife Trisha terms it planned killing

Grief and unanswered questions continue to haunt the family of popular Bhubaneswar-based YouTuber Rahul Maharana, whose shocking murder has left his wife Trisha Das and loved ones struggling for clarity. Trisha termed it on Monday as a planned killing.

While police have indicated that the killing may have been triggered by sudden provocation, the family suspects a deeper conspiracy behind the incident. Trisha believes the crime could have been premeditated, possibly stemming from an earlier parking dispute.

Police have already arrested three accused — Sangram Keshari Behera alias Satura, along with his relatives Samarendra Behera alias Muna and Sangram Behera alias Kuna — and have produced them in court. The police are also planning a Test Identification (TI) parade as part of the investigation.

Questions continue to linger over how the weapon was obtained and whether the attack was spontaneous or planned.

Police have recorded the statements from more than eight individuals and are examining all possible angles, including the condition and whereabouts of another victim, identified as Siba, who survived the assault.

Married just four months ago, Rahul and Trisha were widely known for their social media presence, sharing reels and vlogs together. Today, those memories stand in stark contrast to the tragedy, as the family awaits the truth behind the killing.

“We had received fake calls and death threats when a brawl had previously occurred over vehicle parking. I have got the call recording, photo (screenshot), and the number of the person who called. Another person who was asking about a gas cylinder through a fake call is linked to the person with whom a parking dispute had erupted,” Trisha said.

“I also have the photo of a vehicle, linked to those persons, from which drugs and Ganja were (earlier) seized,” Rahul’s wife expressed.
