Youth found hanging at hotel in Bhubaneswar; Police probe suspicious death

A youth was found dead under suspicious circumstances at a hotel in the Pokhariput area of Bhubaneswar late on Thursday night, police said. An investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause of death.

The deceased has been identified as Bubuna Pradhan. According to preliminary information, he had been in a live-in relationship with a young woman for the past six months. His death has raised several questions, with family members alleging foul play.

Family Alleges Foul Play

As per the complaint lodged by the family, the woman had contacted them earlier in the day and informed them that Bubuna was unwell. However, later that night, his body was recovered in a hanging condition from a room in a hotel at Pokhariput.

The circumstances under which he reached the hotel and the sequence of events leading to his death are currently under investigation.

Body Sent for Post-Mortem

Upon receiving information, police reached the hotel and recovered the body. It was subsequently sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Officials said the investigation is at a preliminary stage and that all possible angles, including abetment and other related factors, are being examined.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that the woman who was allegedly in a relationship with the deceased is currently untraceable. Police are making efforts to locate her and record her statement.

Authorities stated that clarity regarding the cause of death will emerge after the post-mortem report and further investigation.
