A youth was found dead under suspicious circumstances at a de-addiction centre in Uttamapur under Sadar police limits in Odisha's Cuttack. The body was recovered from the premises of the centre on Tuesday, prompting an immediate response from the local police.
According to reports, the deceased, a resident of the Khordha region, had been admitted to the de-addiction centre approximately two months ago.
Allegations have surfaced suggesting that the youth was strangled to death while at the centre. It is reported that a towel was allegedly wrapped around his neck, which may have led to his death.
Following the discovery, police launched an investigation into the incident and have begun questioning other inmates of the centre.
Investigation Underway as Four Inmates Detained
As per police sources, four individuals are suspected of being involved in the alleged strangulation. The four concerned have been detained and taken to the police station for questioning as part of the ongoing inquiry.
At the time of reporting, the forensic team had not yet arrived at the scene. Authorities stated that once the forensic team completes their examination, the body will be taken for a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death and gather further evidence regarding the circumstances leading to the incident.
Neither the police nor the de-addiction centre has released an official statement regarding the incident so far.

As per reports, investigations are continuing to establish the sequence of events and to identify the circumstances under which the youth lost his life.
