In a tragic incident, a young man lost his life and a woman was critically injured after coming into contact with an electric wire trap laid for wild boar hunting near Sishadihi under Bonai police station in Sundargarh district on Friday.
According to reports, the deceased has been identified as Premraj Munda of Sishadihi village. Premraj, who was reportedly wanted by police in connection with a previous case, was walking through a farmland late last night along with a young woman when both accidentally got entangled in the live electric wire.
Hearing their screams, locals rushed to the spot and rescued the duo, taking them to the nearby Lahunipara hospital. However, Premraj succumbed to his injuries there. The woman was shifted to Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH) in critical condition.

Earlier last month, a minor boy lost his life after coming in contact with a live electric wire allegedly set up for hunting wild boars in Aligaon village under Semiliguda block of Koraput district.
The deceased, a Plus Two student, had gone to meet his girlfriend when he accidentally touched an electric trap laid in a field. He was electrocuted on the spot.
