Local villagers first noticed the elephant struggling inside the well and promptly alerted the Forest Department. Officials reached the spot soon after and assessed the situation before launching the rescue operation. As the well was particularly narrow, the team proceeded with caution to prevent injury to the trapped animal.

A JCB machine was deployed to remove soil and widen the area around the well. Forest personnel then created a slope to help the elephant climb out safely. The rescue operation lasted approximately 45 minutes, after which the elephant successfully emerged from the well.
