Jajpur: A woman had a miraculous escape from death after being allegedly pushed off a train by none other than her husband. Such an incident has sent shockwaves in Jajpur town.

According to information, one Sabitri Das was accompanying her inebriated husband Rabi Das in a train from Balasore. But due to a quarrel, both could not get down the train at their stoppage, Jajpur Road station.

Later Rabi allegedly pushed Sabitri out of the train near Jenapur station and even as she survived the incident, she lost her left leg and sustained grievous injuries.

Sabitri was initially rushed to Jajpur Road CHC and later shifted to Cuttack SCB Medical College and Hospital after her condition deteriorated.

Meanwhile, the accused Rabi who is a resident of West Bengal is reportedly absconding.

Sources said, Sabitri married Rabi two years ago after leaving her first husband and had been staying with him at Mundamal Adivasi Sahi in Jajpur Road area.

Although the exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, police have launched a probe to trace the accused.
