Woman found dead inside house in Bolangir, police probe underway

A woman was found dead inside her house in Pendarmal village under the Badamal police outpost within Saintala police limits in Bolangir district on Friday, triggering a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death. The deceased has been identified as Lakshmi Bagarti, wife of Agasti Bagarti, a resident of the same village. She was living at home with her daughter at the time of the incident.

Villagers Alert Police After Discovery

According to local sources, villagers went to Lakshmi’s house on Friday morning to call her for work. When there was no response, they entered the house and found her hanging.

The matter was immediately reported to the Badamal police outpost and Saintala police station.

Police Examining All Angles

Police teams from both units reached the spot soon after and initiated a detailed investigation. Preliminary verification has been carried out, and officers are examining the scene to collect evidence.

Police said the cause of death is yet to be confirmed, and it remains unclear whether the case is one of suicide or foul play. Further investigation is underway.
