Will never let the party down: BJP’s Jay Dholakia on victory in Nuapada bypoll

After securing a thumping victory in the Nuapada Assembly bypoll, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jay Dholakia on Friday extended heartfelt gratitude to the party’s national leadership, workers, and supporters. He acknowledged the collective effort that contributed to the impressive mandate and emphasised that the victory reflected the trust the people have placed in the BJP.

Dholakia assured that he would remain fully committed to upholding the expectations of the party and the people of Nuapada. He reaffirmed that he would never let the party down after the confidence it had shown in him.

He also highlighted the influence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, stating that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) recently secured victory in Bihar largely due to PM Modi’s charismatic and inspiring presence.

“I will never let the party down for the faith it has placed in me to serve the people and ensure the development of Nuapada. The NDA’s victory in Bihar demonstrates the impact of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s charismatic leadership,” Dholakia said. 

Notably, Dholakia defeated his rival by 83,748 votes in the bypoll. Dholakia polled 1,23,869 votes, emerging far ahead of his nearest competitor, and Congress candidate Ghasi Ram Majhi, who finished second with 40,121 votes. Snehangini Chhuria of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), who secured 38,408 votes and finished third, failed to make any significant impact on the electoral outcome.
