The sound of their trumpeting and the sight of two tuskers clashing so close to the village was frightening, said a local resident, adding that people ran for safety, and even the trained forest team had to retreat temporarily.

Currently, the elephants are reportedly wandering near the Kunchapani forest-adjacent road. With forest officials yet to reach the site, local residents remain anxious and on high alert, fearing further disturbances or potential accidents.

Authorities have urged the public to stay indoors and avoid approaching the elephants, while forest department teams are expected to arrive soon to safely guide the animals back into the forest.
