An unfortunate and shocking incident was reported from Nandika village on Monday under the jurisdiction of Jaleswar police station in Balasore district. A dispute over setting up a shop reportedly escalated into a violent altercation between two brothers, leaving both of them seriously injured.

According to preliminary information, the disagreement between the brothers arose over the issue of opening or arranging a shop. What began as a verbal argument soon took a violent turn, resulting in severe injuries to both individuals. The intensity of the clash alarmed local residents, who rushed to help the injured.

Injured Shifted to Hospitals

The critically injured brothers were initially taken to Jaleswar Hospital for emergency treatment. Considering the seriousness of their condition, they were later referred and shifted to Balasore District Hospital for advanced medical care. Their condition is reported to be serious.

"I was walking along the road when I noticed a heated altercation. I was standing there with my brother-in-law when both the father and son arrived. The father was carrying a knife and stabbed my brother-in-law in the chest. In the process, the other brother was also hit by a brick, that the father was carrying,” said a relative of the victim, Gouranga Datta.

Police Launch Investigation

Upon receiving information about the incident, Jaleswar police reached the spot and initiated an investigation.

The situation in the village remains under control as the police continue their probe. The incident has once again highlighted how personal disputes can take a dangerous turn, underscoring the need for timely intervention and peaceful resolution of conflicts.
