Two killed in bomb explosion in Cuttack

Cuttack: Two persons were killed while another sustained critical injuries after a house collapsed following a bomb explosion at Ghodabara village under Banki police limits in Cuttack district on late Friday night.

The deceased have been identified as Pabitra Nayak and Manas Nayak.

The injured has been admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital and is stated to be critical, sources said.

As per reports, two ‘sahis’ of the village were having a dispute over a land and in order to take revenge some miscreants of one group hurled bombs at the house which collapsed and the three present inside the house got trapped inside the debris.

On getting information, officials of Banki police station and fire brigade rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation.

“There are allegations that the house collapsed after bombs were hurled on it. However, the exact reason behind the mishap will be known after investigation,” informed Banki Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Purnachandra Pradhan.

Meanwhile,a scientific team has reached the spot and started investigation.
