In a dramatic late-night operation, the accused in the recent transgender murder case was injured in a police encounter carried out by Pipili police near an overbridge in the area. The exchange of fire reportedly took place near the Naira petrol pump, creating tension in the locality.
According to police sources, the accused was being chased when he allegedly opened fire at the pursuing officers in an attempt to escape. In response, the police retaliated, leading to an exchange of gunfire. During the encounter, the accused sustained a bullet injury to his left leg and was subsequently overpowered and taken into custody.
Admitted To Capital Hospital
He was immediately rushed to the hospital for medical treatment under police security. Officials stated that his condition is stable.

Security Hightened

Worth mentioning, the transgender person was brutally stabbed to death near CIFA under the jurisdiction of Pipili Police Station on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Sunday night. The deceased has been identified as Anjali, a transgender individual originally from Salepur, residing in Bhubaneswar for some time.
She was found severely injured in a pool of blood and rushed to Capital Hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Police have seized her mobile phone and are analyzing call records and CCTV footage from around the CIFA area to trace suspects involved in the murder.
Transgender rights activist Meera Parida, has urged police for expedited action and proper use of CCTV evidence to identify the culprits.
