Trains cancelled, short-terminated due to heavy rain in Odisha

Train services have been affected due to incessant rains and stone-slides in various parts of Kottavalasa- Kirandul and Koraput- Rayagada line of Waltair Division.

As per Waltair Division sources, the train No. 18515 Visakhapatnam- Kirandul Night express leaving Visakhapatnam on 02.10.2025 is cancelled.

Similarly, the train No. 18516 Kirandul- Visakhapatnam Night Express leaving Kirandul on 02.10.2025 will be short-terminated at Koraput.

Moreover, train services on the Koraput-Rayagada route were severely disrupted on Thursday after a landslide caused large boulders and mud to fall onto the tracks due to relentless rainfall.

As per reports, the incident occurred between Dumuriput and Damanjodi on the down line near rail post 13/22, where debris from a nearby hill slid down and obstructed the railway line.

A tree was uprooted and fell onto high-voltage electric wires between Tyda and Chimidipalli on the Visakhapatnam-Koraput rail section, further impacting rail operations.
