A tragic and heart-wrenching incident on Wednesday shook Sahadeb Tikarpada village under Digapahandi block, where two brothers lost their lives in a road accident just 12 days after their mother’s death.

 The entire village is engulfed in grief as the family faces a devastating triple loss within 12 days.

 Brothers Were Returning Home When Accident Occurred

A few days earlier, the family had lost their mother, Kanaklata Maharana, and completed the rituals including the Dashah ceremony. On Tuesday evening, elder brother Arun Maharana and his younger brother Mitu Maharana were returning to their village on a scooter after finishing some work in Berhampur.

 As they reached near the Maulabhanja Satabhouni Temple on the Digapahandi–Dengausta main road, a Tata Ace vehicle coming from the opposite direction reportedly collided with their scooter.

 One Dies on the Spot, Another Succumbs to Injuries

The younger brother, Mitu, died on the spot due to the impact of the crash. The elder brother, Arun, suffered critical injuries and was rushed first to Digapahandi hospital and later shifted to Berhampur for better treatment. Despite efforts, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

 Village in Shock After Three Deaths in 12 Days

With the mother’s death followed by the sudden demise of both sons, the family has been shattered beyond words. The village remains in disbelief as three members of the same household have passed away in just 12 days, leaving the entire village in deep mourning and shock.
