At least four people were injured after a bogie of a toy train ride detached during a village fair in Deogaon under Kabisuryanagar police station limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district.
The incident occurred on Thursday while a Meena Bazaar was underway as part of local festival celebrations. According to reports, one bogie of the toy train suddenly broke off while the ride was in operation, triggering panic among visitors present at the fairground.
Preliminary information suggests that a technical malfunction in the rear compartment led to the snapping of the train wire, causing the bogie to detach. However, the exact cause of the mechanical failure is yet to be determined.
The injured were immediately rushed to the Kodala Community Health Centre, where they were administered first aid. Those with serious injuries were later referred to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for advanced treatment. Their condition is reported to be stable.
