Bhubaneswar/Nayagarh: Two youths from Odisha are reportedly stranded in Dubai without proper food, drinking water, shelter and valid work permit cards while eagerly trying to find a passage back home.
The youths have been identified as Abhimanyu Patasani and Bapuni Pradhan of Badakutuni village of Nayagarh district.
As per reports, an agent named Sushanta Mohanty had lured the duo on false promise of providing jobs in Dubai and took them to UAE on July 20. However after reaching there, Mohanty allegedly seized their passports and made them to work without pay and food.
The matter came to the light only after an audio was leaked on social media in which the youths have revealed their ordeal.
"We were given tourist visas instead of company visas; even they didn't provide us any work and kept us without food. Now, we are staying on roadside without food and passport for the last eight days," one of the youths is heard saying in the audio.
Meanwhile, father of Patasani, Antaryami requested the administration and the State government to help his son return home.
"Their passports have been sized by the agent. After escaping from the contractor's clutches, they are now moving here and there and hiding without food and shelter," lamented Antaryami requesting the government to take immediate steps.
