Toddler’s death at Nayagarh hospital triggers tension, family alleges medical negligence

High drama unfolded at Nayagarh District Headquarters Hospital on Thursday after the death of a two-and-a-half-year-old boy triggered protests and allegations of medical negligence.

According to reports, the child had developed health complications soon after receiving a polio vaccine earlier this week.
 
Concerned family members rushed him to the district hospital yesterday, where doctors examined him. The family alleged that the doctors dismissed the seriousness of the case, assuring them that the child was fine and sending him back home without proper treatment.

Later in the night, the boy’s condition worsened significantly. He was brought back to the hospital early this morning in a critical state. 

Despite receiving treatment for some time, doctors declared him dead, leading to an uproar among relatives.

The grieving family members accused the hospital staff of negligence and claimed that timely medical attention could have saved the boy’s life. 

In protest, they staged a demonstration inside the hospital premises. Tensions escalated when the agitators tried to lock the medical facility, resulting in a confrontation with police personnel deployed to maintain order.

While the family continues to demand action against those responsible, hospital authorities have not yet issued an official clarification.
