Odisha CM Mohan Majhi
During the budget discussion in the Odisha Assembly, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi launched a sharp attack on the Opposition, accusing them of indulging in politics in the name of farmers and deliberately stalling the functioning of the House.
The Chief Minister alleged that the Opposition parties were disrupting proceedings only to serve their political interests rather than fulfilling their democratic responsibilities. He said that instead of constructively participating in debates and raising public issues inside the House, the Opposition members were resorting to sloganeering and creating disturbances.
CM Majhi further criticised the Opposition for failing to genuinely represent the concerns of the people. Questioning the intent behind the recent protests by Opposition parties, the Chief Minister asked how many farmers had actually participated in their agitation. He alleged that the movement was politically motivated and aimed solely at gaining political mileage.
In a strong political remark, CM Majhi stated that the people of Odisha had already rejected the Congress in the past and have now removed the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) from power as well. Referring to the BJD’s 24-year tenure in the state, he said that the party has now been voted out and will not return to power for the next 24 years.
