Odisha CM Mohan Majhi
Amid allegations of irregularities in paddy procurement across Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Thursday issued a stern warning in the State Legislative Assembly, making it clear that the government will not tolerate any malpractice that harms farmers’ interests.
Replying to the motion of thanks on the Governor’s address, the Chief Minister stated that an entrenched ‘ecosystem’ developed over the past 24 years of governance continues to remain active. Without naming specific individuals or groups, he cautioned those allegedly attempting to disrupt the paddy procurement process to immediately mend their ways.
Majhi asserted that individuals involved in irregularities should treat his remarks either as a sincere piece of advice or a firm warning. He underscored that the government is closely monitoring the situation and will not hesitate to initiate strict action if wrongdoing is established.

Emphasising the state’s commitment to farmers, the Chief Minister said ensuring a smooth, transparent and fair procurement process remains a top priority. He assured the Assembly that the administration is prepared to shift into ‘action mode’ if required and take decisive steps against anyone found guilty of malpractice.
Reiterating that justice for farmers is non-negotiable, Majhi affirmed that any attempt to manipulate or disrupt the procurement system would be dealt with firmly and without delay.
