A suspect has been arrested in connection with the robbery of a microfinance agent near Kantabania under Sahadevkhunta police station limits in Balasore, Odisha. The incident occurred on November 5, when an employee of a microfinance company was travelling to Balasore with Rs 88,524 collected during field visits, which he had kept in the dickey of his motorcycle.

According to reports, the agent was returning after completing his collection work when three masked miscreants intercepted him, threatened him with a sharp weapon, and attacked the motorcycle’s dickey with a machete before fleeing with the cash. Sahadevkhunta police launched an investigation following the complaint, leading to the arrest of one accused involved in the robbery.

Accused Arrested, Recovery Made

A senior police official said, "Sahadevkhunta police arrested one of the accused, identified as Mohan Das. Rs 30,000 along with a machete have been seized from his possession during the arrest. Efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining two accused and recover the rest of the stolen amount."

The police officer stated that the investigation is progressing and the other two suspects will be arrested soon.
