Son brutally attacks parents over family dispute in Bhadrak

A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Talabandh village under Chandbali police limits in Bhadrak district of Odisha, where a son brutally attacked his own parents, leaving them critically injured. 

The accused has been identified as Manoj Nayak.

According to reports, a heated argument broke out between Manoj and his parents, which soon turned violent. In a fit of rage, Manoj reportedly attacked his aged father and mother, causing severe injuries. 

The elderly couple, both nearing 80, were rescued in a critical condition and first admitted to Chandbali Medical Centre. Later, due to the severity of their injuries, doctors referred them to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

Neighbours revealed that frequent quarrels had become a regular affair in the Nayak household, especially after Manoj’s marriage. 

Families and relatives have demanded stricter action against the accused while police have detained Manoj for questioning to determine the motive behind the attack.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage in the locality, with villagers expressing deep shock over such brutality within a family.
