Senior journalist Ashutosh Mishra passed away on Monday after suffering a heart attack. His sudden demise has sent shockwaves across the journalism fraternity in Odisha.

Expressing deep grief over Mishra’s death, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi conveyed condolences by stating that his passing is an irreparable loss to the field of journalism in Odisha. He also prayed to Lord Jagannath for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

"I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of senior journalist Ashutosh Mishra. His demise is an irreplaceable loss to the world of journalism in Odisha. While conveying condolences to the bereaved family members, I pray to Lord Shri Jagannath for the peaceful departure of the departed soul. Om Shanti," CM Mohan Majhi wrote on social media account X (earlier known as Twitter).

Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Naveen Patnaik also expressed sorrow over the demise of the veteran journalist and extended his condolences to the bereaved family.

"I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Odisha's senior journalist Ashutosh Mishra. His contributions throughout his long career in journalism will always remain memorable. Along with praying for the eternal peace of his immortal soul, I convey my condolences to his bereaved family," Leader of the Opposition) Naveen Patnaik wrote on X.
