According to reports, the event was organised by a local individual, with Sarathi’s disciples assembling from Jajpur and several other districts to participate in the programme.

Worship And Discourses At The Venue

During the event, Sarathi’s ‘charan paduka’ (symbolic footwear) was placed for worship, while religious discourses were delivered. His photograph was displayed prominently on a stage, decorated with flowers and arranged in a manner depicting him as a divine figure. Followers were seen performing kirtans, singing devotional songs and dancing as part of the programme.

Disciples present at the gathering reiterated their belief in Sarathi, stating that they continue to regard him as a divine figure.

Court Order And Official Clarification

As per reports, the Orissa High Court had earlier directed that Sarathi cannot organise gatherings or deliver sermons. However, despite these directions, followers continued to assemble periodically for programmes linked to him.

Authorities clarified that no official permission was granted for such a gathering. Officials stated that the event was held privately by an individual and not organised with administrative approval.

Free Distribution Of Medication Raises Questions

Reports further stated that homeopathy medication was distributed free of cost during the programme, which reportedly drew additional participants. This raised questions, as the homeopathy department functions under the government. Queries were raised over whether permission was obtained for distributing the medication, whether a certified doctor was present, and whether the medicine distributed was indeed homeopathic.
