Security Agencies On High Alert In Odisha As Maoists Observe PLGA Week

Koraput: Police and intelligence agencies have been put on alert and combing operations stepped up in Maoist hotbed Koraput district as the PLGA (People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army) week observed by the left wing extremists began from today.

CRPF, BSF, DVF and SOG personnel have been deployed in sensitive locations like Pottangi, Narayanpatna, Bandhugaon, Lamtaput and Baipariguda areas of the district. Similarly, intelligence units are putting emphasis on gathering advance information on any Maoist movement aimed at disrupting law and order. The various entry points to the district are being closely monitored and vehicles thoroughly checked.

Of all the Maoist infested districts in Odisha, PLGA week is thoroughly observed in Koraput and the Red Rebels take out rallies, organise meetings to pay tributes to their dead cadres.

As per reports, bus services have been hit hard as all the government buses to Koraput and Malkangiri have been suspended by the authorities.
