Bhubaneswar: Once again a journalist was allegedly thrashed by a group of youths inside a cinema hall in Bhubaneswar. The victim, identified as Kapilendra Pradhan, was attacked for opposing a group of students who were passing lewd comments on women yesterday.

According to reports, Kapilendra and one of his friends were watching movie inside the hall at Acharya Vihar when the duo was attacked.

Kapilendra, who sustained injuries in the attack, has registered a complaint with Saheed Nagar Police Station in connection with the incident. He was admitted to Capital Hospital and discharged after primary treatment.

However, a youth identified as Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra has also filed a complaint against Kapilendra for creating nuisance and passing lewd comments.

Meanwhile, the Sahid Nagar police on Sunday arrested three students of University Law College in connection with the attack on Kapilendra.

Earlier, in December 2018, a journalist was hospitalised after being allegedly attacked by liquor mafia with sharp weapons near Anantpur ghat in Balasore.
