A 23-year-old medical student from Odisha’s Jaleswar, studying in a private college in West Bengal’s Durgapur, recounted the horrifying detail of how she was brutally gangraped near her college campus on Friday night. What began as a simple dinner outing with a friend turned into a nightmare when a group of men intercepted them near a deserted forest patch.
Trapped and Terrorised in the Dark
In her statement to the doctor, accessed by India Today, the survivor described how the men abandoned their vehicle and chased her into the forest. “We noticed that they were coming towards us, so we ran. They caught me, dragged me into the forest, took my phone, and told me to call my friend. When he didn’t come, they forced me to lie down,” she said.
Her voice trembled as she recalled the horror, “When I screamed, they said if I made noise, they would call more men, and they would do it too.”
