A shocking incident of loot has been reported from Gandhi Chhak in Bargarh, where miscreants broke a car window and stole Rs 20 lakh in cash.
According to reports, Subodh Chandra Das of Talipada, Bargarh, had parked his car near a hotel to have lunch. He had withdrawn Rs 15 lakh from the State Bank and another Rs 5 lakh from an ATM, keeping the total amount on the front seat of his car.
When Subodh returned after eating, he found the car’s front glass shattered and the cash missing. He immediately lodged a complaint with the local police. Subodh and his family members suspect that someone might have followed him from the bank while he was carrying the money.
Police have reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.

“After withdrawing Rs 15L from SBI Bank and another Rs 5L from an ATM, we kept the cash inside the car and went to have some food. On our return, we found the car window smashed and the money missing. I suspect they were following us from the State Bank. I had gone with my father and my worker,” alleged the victim.
“My father has gone to the police station to lodge a complaint. I request the police to arrest the culprits and return my money,” he added.
