Two passengers injured in the recent aircraft crash incident in Sundargarh district’s Rourkela City have been airlifted to Mumbai for advanced medical treatment, the State government confirmed on Sunday.

Commerce & Transport Department Principal Secretary Usha Padhee said the injured were shifted to Mumbai voluntarily for better treatment facilities. She added that the Odisha government is fully prepared to provide all necessary assistance to those affected by the incident, if necessary.
“The State government is ready to extend every possible support. If required, other injured patients undergoing treatment may also be airlifted,” Principal Secretary Padhee said.
Official sources stated that medical teams are closely monitoring the condition of injured persons, while coordination is being maintained with the hospitals to ensure uninterrupted treatment.
The fatal incident has drawn the attention of senior officials, with authorities reviewing the situation to ensure proper care for the injured and smooth handling of further medical requirements.
The government has assured that no effort will be spared in providing timely medical care and logistical support. Further details regarding the crash incident and treatment updates are awaited as officials continue to assess the situation.
Worth mentioning, earlier today, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) began an on-site investigation into the chartered aircraft accident that occurred at Jalda in Rourkela, even as the State government reiterated that providing the best possible medical care to the injured remains its top priority.
“The Chief Minister is keeping a close watch on the aircraft accident. He has directed that all possible assistance be provided to the injured. All necessary facilities and support have been extended,” Principal Secretary Padhee expressed.
