To control dust pollution, water sprinkling will be carried out three times a day on major roads and national highways. In the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, burning of garbage in open areas has been completely banned. Additionally, the use of coal and firewood for cooking in hotels and roadside eateries (dhabas) has also been prohibited.

Violators of these restrictions will face a fine of Rs 5,000. Restrictions have also been imposed on the movement of heavy vehicles during nighttime.

The Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) has been instructed to ensure regular water sprinkling on roads in industrial areas.
