Night temperatures across Odisha are expected to rise over the next few days, bringing relief from the prevailing winter chill. Increased cloud cover over several parts of the state is contributing to the gradual rise in minimum temperatures, bringing partial relief from the cold wave and easing the winter intensity.

However, the dense fog conditions will continue to affect the state, affecting early morning visibility and transport. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for dense fog till the 7th of January.

On Sunday, several districts of Odisha, including Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, and Nayagarh districts, experienced very dense fog. In view of the reduced visibility, an orange warning has been issued for these areas, advising people to exercise caution, especially during the early morning hours.

Weather reports indicate that fog conditions are expected to intensify over northern and interior Odisha.  Similar weather conditions are likely to persist tomorrow, with very dense fog predicted again in Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, and Nayagarh districts of the state.

Despite the fog, the IMD has ruled out any significant rainfall activity. The weather is expected to remain dry across the state for the next seven days. People are advised to exercise caution while travelling, particularly during early mornings, due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.
