Bhubaneswar: The authorities of Rama Devi Women's University on Monday postponed the Plus-III final year semester examinations. As per University’s public relations officer, the examination has been postponed by 15 days.

The decision to postpone semester exam comes after students today staged a demonstration against the decision of the authorities to conduct the examination amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier, the students of Rama Devi Women’s University had launched a campaign demanding cancellation of their sixth semester examination which was scheduled to be held on June 25.

The students had also claimed to have submitted a memorandum to the university’s vice-chancellor and postgraduate council chairperson.

The students alleged that there is a risk of getting exposed to the virus in the examination halls besides other problems mostly in accommodation.

“The world is grappling with COVID-19 pandemic and we had staged demonstration protesting examination in offline mode. We want the authorities to come up with alternatives and if possible conduct the exam in online mode or give us various assignments during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said a student.
