Puri COVID19 Patient With Delhi Travel History Is A Postman In Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: While briefing mediapersons, the Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), Prem Chandra Chaudhary, informed that a person from Puri, who tested positive for Coronavirus is a postman in Bhubaneswar.
“He is a postman at BJB Nagar Sub-Post Office in Bhubaneswar & had returned from Delhi on March 10. His service area is the entire Gautam Nagar & Court area. If any person from these areas have come in contact with the postman, he/she must go for mandatory home quarantine & register on govt’s 104 helpline,” said Chaudhary.
Sharing details of the contact tracing of the patient-5 (from Surya Nagar in Bhubaneswar), the BMC Commissioner informed that all the family members of the patient have been admitted to COVID hospital adding that one of his relatives had recently traveled to Kolkata & stayed there for around 4 days. “The said relative is among the 7 contacts who tested positive yesterday,” said Chaudhary.
Similarly, regarding the 3 siblings of Bomikhal, who have tested positive, Chaudhary said, “A vital link has been established as their father, who works and stays in Bhopal, has also tested positive.”
As per latest data provided by the Health department, in Odisha, out of the total 1,699 samples, 21 have tested positive for COVID19 so far. As many as 304 samples were tested today out of which the sample of a 29-year-old youth from Kalahandi district was found positive for COVID19.
Among the COVID-19 positive patients, 14 persons are from Bhubaneswar, 3 from Bhadrak, one each from Puri, Cuttack, Jajpur, and Kalahandi.
So far, 28 persons, who returned from the Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi’s Nizamuddin area, have been identified in the State. Test reports of all have been received out of which 3 (one each from Cuttack, Puri and Jajpur) have tested positive, while the rest are negative.
