President Murmu concludes Similipal visit, heads to Bhubaneswar for Black Swan conference

President Droupadi Murmu is set to conclude her visit to Mayurbhanj district on Friday, marking the final leg of her Odisha tour. She spent Thursday night at the Gudugudia Forest Rest House inside the Similipal Tiger Reserve.

On Friday morning, the President will depart from Gudugudia and proceed to Gudugudia Ground to inaugurate a tribal community development initiative. She will also interact with tribal women and youth from the region, underscoring the Centre’s emphasis on tribal empowerment and inclusive growth.

During her visit, President Murmu will distribute blankets to residents living within the Similipal Reserve area.

After completing her engagements in Similipal, the President will return to Bhubaneswar aboard a special flight from the Kaleikunda airbase to attend the Black Swan Conference. She will stay overnight at Lok Bhavan and is scheduled to depart for Chhattisgarh on Saturday.

Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place across Mayurbhanj and Bhubaneswar in view of the President’s visit. Senior officials are supervising the deployment to ensure the smooth conduct of all programmes.

Notably, President Murmu is on a six-day visit to Odisha. On Wednesday, she performed religious rituals in Puri, including Pinda Daan at Shwetaganga, and offered prayers at the Srimandir. Following her engagements in Puri, the President travelled to her native place, Rairangpur.
