President Droupadi Murmu to begin six-day Odisha visit today

President of India Droupadi Murmu will begin her six-day visit to Odisha from today, during which she will attend a series of official, cultural, and public programmes across five districts of the state. The President’s itinerary includes visits to Puri, Khordha, Balasore, Jajpur, and Mayurbhanj districts.

The President is scheduled to arrive in Bhubaneswar this evening. As part of her visit, she will travel to Jajpur, where she will offer prayers at the shrine of Maa Biraja, the presiding deity of the district. On February 3, the President will spend over 1.5 hours at the Biraja Temple. Following the temple visit, she will proceed to Balasore.

In Balasore, President Murmu will attend the 12th convocation ceremony of Fakir Mohan University, where she will interact with graduating students. Later that evening, she will reach Puri and stay overnight.

On February 4, the President will be accorded a ceremonial welcome at the Singhadwara of the Shree Jagannath Temple by Gajapati Maharaja, servitors, and senior administrative officials. After offering prayers to Lord Jagannath, she will perform Pinda Daan rituals at Swetaganga.

From Puri, the President will travel directly to Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district on the same day. There, she will address a large public gathering and interact with people in her native region. She is also scheduled to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for multiple development projects.

On the following day, President Murmu will visit the Jagannath Temple in Rairangpur. Later in the afternoon, she will proceed via Jashipur to the Similipal Tiger Reserve, known for its rich biodiversity and natural beauty, where she will stay overnight.

On the final day of her visit on February 6, the President will hold interactions with tribal women and youth from the Similipal region, highlighting her focus on community engagement and inclusive development.
