The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday made a significant breakthrough in the ongoing Police Sub-Inspector (SI) examination scam by arresting another accused, further intensifying its probe into the alleged irregularities.
According to sources, the investigating agency has arrested Neetu Arora from another state, indicating that the scam has inter-state links and a wider network than initially suspected.
With this arrest, the CBI is continuing its efforts to unravel the conspiracy behind the manipulation of the Police SI recruitment examination. Officials said the accused was brought under custody after preliminary evidence suggested involvement in the racket connected to the examination process.
Meanwhile, the two-day remand of the arrested middlemen in the case has come to an end. Accused Muna Mohanty and Abhimanyu Dora, who were earlier taken into CBI custody for questioning, have completed their remand period.

During the remand, the agency reportedly questioned them extensively to trace money trails, identify key conspirators, and gather details about the modus operandi adopted in the scam.
In addition, the CBI had also taken the mastermind, Srikant Prusty, and Soumya Priyadarshini on remand as part of the same investigation. Sources indicate that crucial information related to the examination leak and involvement of multiple intermediaries has emerged during these interrogations.
The CBI continues to examine documents, digital evidence, and financial transactions linked to the case. Officials have not ruled out further arrests as the investigation progresses. The Police SI examination scam has raised serious concerns over the integrity of recruitment processes, prompting demands for strict action against those responsible.
