According to reports, the threats were made from unknown phone numbers, with the caller using abusive and vulgar language and directly mentioning the name of Bikram Panda. The caller allegedly warned that the family would be killed if the case was not withdrawn.

In her emotional appeal, Pitabas Panda’s wife expressed that the family was living in fear and pleaded with authorities to ensure their safety.

“They called, taking Bikram Panda’s name, threatening me to withdraw the case. They even threatened to eliminate me. So, there is a threat to my family. I request the police and CM Mohan Majhi to not release the accused on bail until justice is served. I want justice as my husband was killed in an inhumane manner,” claimed Pitabas’ wife, Suchismita Panda.

The incident has sparked concern among the local legal community, with several lawyers demanding a thorough probe and stronger security for Pitabas Panda’s family.
