A complaint filed by a lady Additional Tahsildar against a Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) has led to a major administrative controversy in Ganjam district, with counter-allegations now emerging from the PEO’s family.
According to official sources, the lady Additional Tahsildar has allegedly accused the PEO of misconduct during a marathon organised on February 3 as part of a local festival. Following the incident, she approached the Internal Complaints Committee and also lodged an FIR at Golanthara police station in connection with the alleged misbehaviour.
PEO Hospitalised After Alleged Poison Consumption
After the matter was taken up by the Internal Complaints Committee, it was alleged that the PEO consumed poison. He was immediately rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The incident has added a serious and sensitive dimension to the administrative dispute.
Counter-Complaint by PEO’s Wife
Meanwhile, the PEO’s wife has submitted a complaint to the District Collector, levelling allegations against the lady Additional Tahsildar. In her complaint, she claimed that her husband was unable to cope with the allegations, which allegedly led him to consume poison.
With complaints and counter-complaints filed from both sides, the case has become increasingly complex.
