The much-awaited results of OTV’s Ama Sahi Medha Competition 2025, organised as part of the grand Dhenkanal Gajalaxmi Puja celebrations, have been officially announced. This year’s contest witnessed exceptional creativity, artistry, and devotion from various Puja committees, making the festive season even more vibrant.
After receiving tremendous appreciation during the Durga Puja celebrations, where Puja Committees from Cuttack and Bhubaneswar participated, OTV extended the Ama Sahi Medha competition to the Gajalaxmi Puja in Dhenkanal and Kendrapara for the first time. The initiative aimed to celebrate local community participation and recognise excellence in idol design, decoration, lighting, and thematic presentation.
The event was judged by renowned artist Paresh Pattnayak and senior journalist Ratan Nair, who evaluated the entries based on aesthetics, creativity, and cultural relevance. After a close competition, seven Puja committees from Dhenkanal emerged as winners in different categories:

Best Medha: Shree Shree Maudamani Rajalaxmi Puja Committee, Meenabazar
Goddess Laxmi’s idol was decorated with silver ornaments and a gold crown, captivating thousands of visitors.
Best Gate (Toran): Kaibalya Bazar Puja Committee
Best Light & Decoration: Golden Street Puja Pandal, Gudianali
The 1.5 km-long stretch illuminated with dazzling lights was a major attraction for devotees.
Best Parshwa Devata (Side Deity): Laxmi Bazaar Puja Committee
The themes ‘Operation Sindoor’ and “Mahakumbh Baruani” drew special attention from visitors.
Best Meenabazar Award: Ganesh Bazaar Puja Committee
Best Bhog Award: Jubilee Town-1 Puja Committee
Best Theme Award: Khamar Sahi Puja Committee
