In a touching gesture of compassion, the Union for Cuttack Sadar Development organised a special visit to the grand Bali Yatra fair for a group of orphaned children on Sunday, making it a day to remember for many young hearts.
Around 20 children aged between five and fifteen from Nuapada Utkal Balashram were treated to a delightful tour of the sprawling fairgrounds. For many of them, it was a rare opportunity to experience the vibrant colours, sounds, and festivities that define one of Odisha’s most iconic cultural events.
Brimming with excitement, the children explored various stalls, enjoyed amusement rides, and relished local delicacies. “We enjoyed the swings and relished dahibara and ice cream at the Bali Yatra ground. On the bus ride, we had kurkure and chocolates too,” shared Biswaranjan Pradhan, his eyes gleaming with joy. Another child, Simanchal Sahu, added, “I am very happy and enjoying Bali Yatra a lot.”

A member of the organising group expressed fulfillment over the initiative, saying, “Bringing these children here gives us immense joy. They loved the swings, the dancing Mickey Mouse, and buying small toys and whistles. They’ve already asked if we’ll bring them again next year.”
The thoughtful effort beautifully captured the true spirit of Bali Yatra — joy, inclusivity, and togetherness, spreading smiles that will linger long after the fair ends.
