OPSC Civil Services 2023 result: Topper Priyanshu Pal clears the exam for third time

The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has announced the final results of the Odisha Civil Services Examination-2023.
A total of 398 candidates, including 144 women, have been recommended for appointment to various posts and services under the Odisha Civil Services (Group A & B).

The results are based on the Main (Written) Examination held between April 19 and May 15, 2025, followed by the Personality Test conducted from September 6 to September 18, 2025.

Priyanshu Pal has emerged as the topper, claiming the first position with outstanding performance.

Speaking exclusively to OTV, topper Priyanshu said, “I’m very happy today. I have already cleared this exam twice, and this is my third time. I was earlier posted in Odisha Labour Service, and after my second attempt, I’m currently posted in Odisha Taxation and Accounts Service.”

“Usually, it is very tough when one fails despite several attempts. In such occasions, many people give up, but I reinforced myself. Plus, it is the luck factor that is important apart from hard work and smart work,” Pal added.

“My teacher, Saroj Samal, had once said luck and miracle are different. One can understand luck only after turning 30. But hard work is important. I thank all my Odia people as my target has always been to top the exam,” he added.

Attributing his success to his parents, Pal said, “Whatever my parents have done for me, I can never repay them my whole life. My parents have never gone outside the house. So, I would take them to visit Lord Jagannath in Puri in my first salary.”
