Outpatient departments (OPDs) in government hospitals across Odisha remain closed for one hour, even today, as the Odisha Medical Services Association continues its protest.
As part of the agitation, the OPD services in government hospitals will be suspended from 10 am to 11 am, affecting patients seeking routine medical consultations across the state.
Meanwhile, the state government has initiated steps to address the concerns raised by the doctors. An inter-departmental committee was constituted on Saturday to address the demands raised by the OMSA.
Inter-departmental Committee Formed
The committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the Additional Chief Secretary of the General Administration and Public Grievances Department.
Senior officials from key departments have been included in the panel, including the Finance Secretary, the Principal Secretary of the Law Department, the Health Department Commissioner, and the Director of Odisha Health Services as members.
The panel has been tasked with holding detailed discussions on various demands put forth by OMSA and submitting a comprehensive report to the state government.
The OMSA demands center on multiple unsolved issues, including post vacancies, cadre restructuring, transparent transfer policy, career progressions, and healthcare insurance for doctors.
