OMC MD reviews key Odisha mines, limestone and bauxite operations Photograph: (OMC)
Managing Director of the Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC), Sudhansu Mohan Samal, carried out a two-day field visit to key mining units and corporate social responsibility (CSR) facilities in Koraput district to review production performance, operational efficiency, and safety compliance at major bauxite and limestone projects.
The visit covered the Ampavalli limestone mine, the Kodingamali bauxite mine, and multiple community infrastructure facilities developed by OMC in and around Laxmipur.
Review of Ampavalli Limestone Mine Operations
As per information shared by the OMC, the MD visited the Ampavalli mine along with senior officials and reviewed ongoing mining activities, production performance, and site-level safety practices.
During interactions with mine officials and technical staff, discussions focused on operational efficiency, deployment of manpower and machinery, and adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
Kodingamali Bauxite Mine: Production and Expansion Plans
On the second day, the MD-led team visited the Kodingamali in the presence of Koraput Collector Manoj Satyawan Mahajan, along with other senior district officials.
Officials discussed sustainable mining practices, measures proposed for enhancing bauxite output, and operational planning for the smooth dispatch of raw materials. Safety protocols at the mine site were reviewed, along with future expansion proposals and the five-year production roadmap for the project.

Inspection of CSR Infrastructure in Laxmipur
Earlier in the day, the OMC team inspected key community infrastructure developed under the corporation’s CSR programme. Facilities reviewed included Sanghana High School, the Laxmipur Maternity and Child Health Care Centre, ITI Laxmipur, and the Mini Sanitation Park established for solid waste management.
Interactions were held with institutional authorities and local officials to review the operational status of the facilities, service delivery mechanisms, and utilisation of infrastructure created under CSR funding.
