Ganjam youth dies in Tamil Nadu, family struggles to get body Photograph: (OTV)
A tragic incident has left a family in Ganjam district devastated. A young man from Nuagaon village under Sanakhemundi block in the district, lost his life in Tamil Nadu, after getting electrocuted while working.
The deceased has been identified as Arakhita Nayak who was working as a migrant worker in Tamil Nadu.
According to reports, despite his death occurring two days ago, his body has been yet to be brought back home, leaving the family in deep distress.
Following media coverage, the district administration has been alerted. Following instructions from the Collector to the Labour Department, efforts to expedite the process are now reportedly underway.
As per sources, the deceased was the sole earning member of his family, and his untimely death has thrown his household into severe financial uncertainty. The family remains anxious about how they will earn their livelihood in his absence.
"We have received detailed information regarding the incident. All arrangements for the transportation of the body will be made by the Labour Department. Whenever such information is received, we extend all necessary assistance to ensure the safe return of the mortal remains of the deceased. After assessing the economic condition of the bereaved family, the district administration will take a decision regarding financial assistance," said Ganjam Collector V. Keerthi Vasan.
