Joint Collabration By State Govt & Centre

According to the minister, the new land pattas will be introduced jointly by the Central and State Governments. These upgraded documents will feature an electronic QR code containing complete details of the land, including ownership records and other relevant information. By simply scanning the QR code, buyers and officials will be able to instantly verify the authenticity of the land documents.

“New patta will be issued now. Earlier, old pattas were in thick papers, and were of two pages with area, names, and other details. Now, with the collaboration of both the Centre and the state government, we are introducing a new patta which will be embedded with electronics chip and a QR code. When we scan the QR code, it will show the whole history of the last 50-70 years of the particular patta. It will show all the details, starting from what happened during settlement, what happened after settlement, and also details of the sellers and buyers. Now, we apply EC, which will no longer be required as we will get all details just by scanning the QR code,” informed Suresh Pujari.

Significant Reduce In Forged Documents

The initiative is expected to significantly reduce cases of forged documents and fraudulent land sales, which have been a recurring concern in several parts of the state. With digital verification in place, it will become difficult for anyone to manipulate or provide false information regarding land ownership.

Minister Pujari further clarified that if any attempt at fraud is detected, the system will automatically alert the concerned Tehsildar and Revenue Inspector (RI), enabling prompt action.

The move is being seen as a major digital reform in land administration, aimed at safeguarding citizens from property-related scams and strengthening transparency in revenue services across Odisha.
